Sedation Dentistry

Oral Sedation

Our patients who opt for oral sedation are simply required to take a pill about an hour prior to their appointments. During their treatment, they remain awake but feel completely relaxed. They are able to communicate, ensuring that they experience maximum comfort. Because oral sedatives stay in the system for some time, this procedure requires patients to have a ride to and from our office.

nitrous-oxide

Nitrous Oxide

Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is breathed in through the nose during your treatment. Since the mask is only covering your nose, you can reliably control how much you receive. As with oral sedation, patients are awake and able to communicate. Nitrous oxide leaves the system faster than oral sedatives, so patients can provide their own transportation to their appointments.

iv-sedation

IV Sedation

Intravenous sedation quickly delivers a sedative to patients via IV drip. The depth of sedation is determined by individual patient need and can be adjusted throughout the procedure. Those who undergo IV sedation can expect to be in a deeply relaxed state, yet responsive. Because of the depth of this sedation patients are required to have a ride to and from our office.

There’s No Need For Anxiety or Pain

Because we offer three types of sedation dentistry, we can help all patients feel more comfortable with the treatments we provide. Sedation dentistry is perfect for patients who:

  • Are sensitive to the sensations and sounds of dentistry
  • Are extremely pain sensitive
  • Are anxious about undergoing a more lengthy procedure
  • Have a strong gag-reflex that makes lengthy treatments a challenge
  • Experience symptoms of anxiety prior to or during treatment

No matter what’s kept you from the dentist before, Breezy Bay Dental has a sedation solution just for you.
